He's Here

This picture says it all -- he's here and he's doing well. 20 inches; 5lbs 8 oz. It's been about 60 hrs since he came into this world. He'll be in the NICU for at least another week. Everyday he gets a little stronger, but they want to continue to monitor him and make sure he doesn't go back. Here are a few pics

He just lays on his side an takes in the awesome view

No worries at all.

Finally, after 2 days, I get to give mom a hug.

12 Weeks

Karen just had her 12 week exam on Monday -- everything is right on track. Unlike the 8 week exam, the doctor didn't ask that I come to this one. To bad for me because Karen said she could actually see the baby moving around on the ultrasound. She brought home some pictures, but they really don't convey the excitement the same way. Take a look at this one --- if I didn't know better, I'd think I was looking into the last stall in bus station restroom.

I'd of really liked to be there and see the thing move. Karen said that at one point the baby floated all the way from one side of her belly to the other. That would have been pretty cool to see --- like a little astronaut floating through space. Anyway, here's the one picture that did bring it all home for me. It's not cute, but it's definitely a human (complete with fingers and toes.)

8 Weeks

Alright. So maybe my expectations were a little too high. I guess with modern technology and all I expected a little more. I'm still not convinced there wasn't just dust on the screen, but allegedly this is baby stierwalt at 8 weeks.
